WCPT's Reprints and Permission Policy

Policy
WCPT is in general happy for you to reproduce any of its publications, in whole or part, or use them as the basis for your own publications. However, attributing WCPT is essential, and you must consult WCPT before going ahead.

General terms and conditions
WCPT is a confederation of over 100 national physical therapy organisations. It works to improve global health by: representing the physical therapy profession internationally; encouraging high standards of physical therapy research, education and practice; supporting communication and exchange of information among Regions and Member Organisations of WCPT; collaborating with international and national organisations.

WCPT produces a range of materials to support the work of Member Organisations and advance the profession internationally.

While specific reprint policies apply to each of WCPT publications, as described below, in general, WCPT is happy for materials to be used for the advancement of the profession in compliance with the following policy:

  • Material may be consulted online, printed out directly or downloaded and saved to personal computers
  • If you wish to reprint a document in part or as a whole then permission should be sought from WCPT
  • No changes in, additions to, or deletions from the copied or reused material should be made without prior written approval
  • You must obtain explicit permission if you wish to reproduce any publication/website content:
    • in quantities of 50 or more,
    • use them in a class or for training purposes where participants are required to pay a fee; or
    • reprint material in a publication.

Reprint/permissions requests
All permissions requests should be submitted on the form provided either via e-mail or fax.

No changes in, additions to, or deletions from the copied or reused material should be made without prior written approval of WCPT. Permission applies only to the material and use specified in any correspondence. New requests should be made for subsequent use or for other uses of material.

Charges
There may be a charge for reprinting or use of material. This will be determined on a case by case basis.

Specific content

  1. Keynotes
The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) publishes Keynotes on a number of topics of relevance to physical therapy. These are occasional papers dealing with important professional, practice and policy issues relevant to physical therapists across the world and to the development of physical therapy internationally. Keynotes are written by independent authors and are intended to generate discussion. They do not necessarily represent WCPT's opinion.

As a service to physical therapy worldwide WCPT is happy for the pdf documents to be consulted online, printed out directly or downloaded and saved to personal  computers for personal use. If you wish to reprint them in part or as a whole then permission should be sought from WCPT. No changes in, additions to, or deletions from the copied or reused material should be made without prior written approval of WCPT.

  1. WCPT News
WCPT News provides news and information from Member Organisations, Regions and Subgroups. It also includes reports on WCPT initiatives and Executive Committee and General Meeting decisions, and opinion articles on international issues relevant to the profession.

News items and features may be reprinted and used by WCPT’s Member Organisations, Regions and subgroups freely, so long as:

  • the item is referenced appropriately and the following wording added: “Used with the permission of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.” and
  • the material will not be used for commercial or for-profit purposes without permission.

Other individuals and organisations should seek permission from WCPT.

  1. Policy Statements
Declarations of Principle record the Confederation's agreed stance on issues affecting the practice of physical therapy internationally and have a two-thirds majority vote thereby becoming policy for all member organisations. Position Statements reflect the Confederation's preferred opinion on issues affecting the practice of physical therapy and have a simple majority vote. Such statements are available to member-organisations to adopt, fully or in part.

WCPT’s Member Organisations, Regions and subgroups may reprint and use these documents in accordance with WCPT’s Articles of Association. Where documents can be edited to provide contextual information/clarity this is indicated, otherwise no changes in, additions to, or deletions from the copied or reused material should be made without prior written approval of WCPT.

Other individuals and organisations should seek permission from WCPT.

  1. Website content
Information from individual website pages may be copied, downloaded and distributed so long as the following is included on the copy:
    • WCPT is acknowledged as the source
    • the website address provided
    • the date the material was downloaded or copied stated

No changes in, additions to, or deletions from the copied or reused material should be made without
    prior written approval of WCPT.
